Express the Night Away

Hello friends & readers! Sorry for our lack of presence lately, but life has been busy! Perhaps we'll talk about that another time, but for today I just wanted to quickly share our #ootd's for a night on the town.

Last weekend we went Downtown to celebrate a couple of birthdays, so of course that called for a last-minute photo shoot.  As we were getting ready for photos, I realized that 90% of what we were both wearing are items from Express!  Go figure, since a year & a half ago, I was under the impression that Express was for Juniors...oh, how I was wrong!  Thankfully, Gina (at On The Daily Express) & Carlyee (at More Pieces of Me) set me straight on that one!!

Here's what we wore, with the obligatory selfie first of course ;-)

Stacie's Outfit Details:

Snakeskin Top - Express // Scuba Leggings - Express // Booties - Express // Earrings (in Rose Gold) & Cuff - Nickle & Suede // Mini Bucket Bag - Michael Kors

Stacie was smart & pulled out some of her classic pieces accomplishing her goal of staying warm & comfortable, while keeping an edgy vibe for a night out!  Let me tell you, she was soooo smart to go with the booties - my feet were killing me by the end of the night!  And if you don't already know - Portofino shirts are the most versatile shirt out there (in our opinions, of course). You can literally wear them for any occasion, dress them up or down, & wear them multiple ways - well worth the investment!

Kellie's Outfit Details:

Barcelona Cami - Express // Jacket - Express // Destroyed Cropped Jeans - Express // Shoes - Old Navy (option in flats) // Necklace - Total Betty Society // Earrings - Kendra Scott

During Express's latest sale I broke down & purchased this "Watercolor" Barcelona Cami that I had fallen in love with.  It's no secret that I adore the Barcelona Cami, but when I saw this print in person I couldn't help but find the bright colors intriguing.  The jacket is one that I grabbed when Carylee was here & this is just another way I've put it to good use.

So, that's a wrap on our Saturday night on the town!  By the way, how cute are our matching mini bucket bags?!  Stacie will have more on those later, so stay tuned :-)

Season Faves

I've recently acquired a couple new items that I already know will be favorites of mine this Spring (& even into the summer).  The first item is another great graphic shirt & the other was a direct copy of the most perfect pink destroyed skinnies that Carylee shared with us.

Hat - Forever 21 (similar option in black) // Graphic Shirt - Forever 21 (option) // Pink Denim - American Eagle (non-distressed option) // Shoes - The Limited, old // Denim Jacket - American Eagle // Necklace - J.Crew Factory (similar)

At Carylee's suggestion I just had to try out this pair of soft pink denim - & I'm in love!  I know they will be an item I reach for all season long!  The top is gem that I happened to find while following my daughter through Forever 21.  I take my finds at that store as I can get them & I'm super happy with this top.  Yes, it's a graphic tee technically, but the front is a chiffon (or crepe) type material giving it a dressier vibe.  I swear by a good graphic tee, so to have one that is a little more formal is a good addition to the closet. I also wore this top here.

Guys - I'm not a hat person.  I LOVE them on other people, but never feel like they look right on me.  I've been trying lately to adjust to them (and try on different types) in the hopes that it will click for me because I think they are a fun element to add to an outfit.  I love the Navy color and the rope detail on this hat & went for it because it was a small investment.  I don't know, what do you think?  It may just be a pretty detail in my closet instead of on my person, haha!

p.s. Shop exact or similar items here.  Can I say how frustrating Forever 21 is that I can never find the items I've purchased in the store online for you guys, ugh!  Therefore, I've shown you similar options where I could :-)
